Palo Santo (Bursera Graveolens) enchants with its pleasing citrus aroma, complemented by warm, delicately sweet, and rosy-woodsy notes reminiscent of its close relative, frankincense. Our Palo Santo sticks are sustainably wild-harvested from naturally fallen trees and branches, which have lain undisturbed for 4-10 years before harvest, honoring the natural cycle of life.

For centuries, Palo Santo has been revered by the Incas and Indigenous peoples of South America as a natural incense made from wood. Shamans utilize it in sacred plant-spirit ceremonies, recognizing its power as a spiritual remedy to ward off evil spirits and misfortune alongside its medicinal properties. Burn it to purify and cleanse your space or to indulge in its aromatic pleasure!

Palo Santo Sticks come elegantly packaged in a 2 oz reusable bag, containing approximately 8 to 10 sticks for your enjoyment.

BEFORE YOU BUY
There is a common misconception about how Palo Santo is intended to be burned. Each stick is unique, varying in burn, look, and scent depending on the part of the tree it comes from—embrace this beautiful inconsistency.

Oils coming from the wood?
Expect a highly resinous heartwood to release "oil" as you light it, much like the sap within a tree. The heat ignites the oils, creating its signature fragrance. This is entirely normal; if you see more resin, be prepared to let it burn longer for a more complete experience. Rest assured, it is free from any synthetic dips.

Dark smoke?
When first ignited, the wood may emit dark smoke, which can lead to misconceptions about its origin. Instead, embrace it as part of the process; once extinguished, witness the transformation into a white, cleansing, and fragrant smoke. Heartwood pieces may appear waxy and burn darker, but they are often the most aromatic.

Won’t it stay lit?
Sacred plants designed for quick cleansing or rituals aren’t meant to burn continuously. Feel free to relight and reuse your stick whenever you need to. For longer smoke sessions, allow it to burn a bit longer to create a steady ember, or use a feather to fan it. Another option is placing the Palo Santo stick on Swiftlite self-lighting charcoal to enhance your experience.
